This Is Scary: World Population Approaching 6,666,666,666

By James Donahue

A brief note on the Live Science website this week notes that the U.S. Census Bureau is estimating that the number of people in the world is expected to hit the so-called “mark of the beast,” but by a most incredible lay-out.

The projection is that at some point, between May 1 and June 1, a gaggle-of-sixes will roll out and there will be 6,666,666,666 people living on the planet.

This is a frightening number, and not just because of Christian mythology that claims the number 666 is the so-called mark of the beast. It means that the human population growth in the world is still on the increase, and that we have gained more than half a billion people since we hit that six billion mark in 1999.

It means that in spite of all the warnings of overpopulation, pollution and lack of resources to provide housing, food and all the basic necessities for so many people, we continue to bring more babies into the world than the number of people who die. We are literally breeding ourselves into extinction.

Because of the growing awareness, and because of the high cost of providing for large families, there has been a slowing-down of the over-all population growth in the more developed nations, and even a decline in the numbers, especially among higher educated families. The problem exists among the lower educated masses, many of them living under the influence of the Roman Catholic Church which forbids the practice of birth control and promotes large families.

At the current rate of growth, the human head-count is expected to hit seven billion by the year 2011. The world population doubled, from 3 billion to 6 billion, in only 38 years. If we follow the historical record, each doubling has taken about half as long as the previous doubling. If we fail to get this problem under control, it could mean that there could be as many as 13 billion of us packed on this planet by the year 2027.

Obviously, this will not happen since we lack the resources to house and feed all of the numbers on Earth today. Before we hit such a staggering number most of us will die off from famine, disease, or wars as we struggle to control what remains of the land, food, water, oil, lumber and other resources needed for survival.

There are two ancient prophecies concerning the “end times” that seem to play into this story.

The first, as already mentioned, is that tattered and dog-eared verse found in the Book of the Revelation, Chapter 13, verses 16-18: “He causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man, and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”

The second is an unstated but worrisome prophecy left by the ancient Mayans in projected calendar, inscribed on stone. The calendar looks far into the future from the time the Mayan culture existed, but then stops cold at the end of December, 2012. Some wonder if the prophets of that time failed to see a future beyond this date.

Indeed, contemporary efforts by advanced remote viewers and people claiming to have an ability to catch glimpses of the future, say they cannot see beyond 2012.

All of this suggests a nightmare scenario just around the corner for all of us. Can we head it off? Yes we can. But to do it, we must quickly dismantle the outdated religious systems that control the mindset of billions, teach a new and more productive spiritual path, open up our borders and create a world socialist government with an emphasis on controlling population, restoring the health of our planet, and equal sharing of resources.

If we continue to ignore the problem any longer, it will destroy us all.
