Raping Of Lot By His Daughters
By James Donahue
The entire story
of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah is filled with perversion and strange sexual behavior that leaves students of Genesis
19 shaking their heads.
The “teaching” allegedly drafted from the story appears to involve God’s
judgment on those two cities and the people in them for their wild and perverted behavior. This is demonstrated when Lot’s
home was surrounded by the men of Sodom who wanted to have sex with angels that arrived that day to warn Lot to flee with
his wife and two daughters to escape the looming destruction of the city.
The passages in Verses 5 and 6 suggest
that the entire city had gone almost totally insane with sexual homosexual prowess and that they were drawn to the strangers
that were unknown to them. That they did not seem attracted to Lot suggests that Lot was one of the good-old-boys in Sodom
and no longer an exciting new temptation to the masses.
Verse 5 reads: “The men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house
round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter. And they called unto Lot and said unto him: Where are the men
which came in to thee this night. Bring them out unto us that we might know them.”
The men of Sodom were proposing
a mass rape of the two angels. Fortunately Lot chose to protect his guests but what he did next makes us question why even
Lot and his family were spared by God. He offered up his two daughters to be sexually ravaged by the mob instead. The mob
did not appear to like this idea, and a gang move in to try to break down the door.
At that point the two angels
“smote” the gang leaders, blinding them. This seemed to disperse the crowd and the crisis was over for that night.
So the following
morning Lot, his wife and two daughters took the angelic advice, fled the city and traveled to Zoar. The husbands of the two
daughters refused to leave. They had just cleared the city when both Sodom and Gomorrah were hit by dual bomb blasts that
leveled the cities and killed everyone in them. Lot’s wife couldn’t resist the temptation to look back at what
was happening, in spite of angelic warnings. As the story is told, she was either turned into a pillar of salt as the Bible
story reports, or perhaps turned to ash by what may have been an atomic blast.
So Lot and his daughters set up housekeeping
in a cave somewhere in or around the place called Zoar. And it was here that the daughters plotted some really twisted incest
activity involving their father. They fed him wine, got him dead drunk, then jumped in bed with him with the thought that
they needed to “preserve seed of the father.”
Both daughters continued this activity until they became pregnant.
Verses 36-38
read: “Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father. And the firstborn bare a son and called him name
Moab, the same is the father of the Moabites. And the younger, she also bare a son and called his name Ben-am’mi. The
same is the father of the children of Ammon.”
Thus it was that two of the Middle Eastern tribes were created from this twisted incest
relationship between Lot and his daughters.
