Big American Cover-up Over Mad Cow Disease

By James Donahue

March 13, 2006

Psychic Aaron C. Donahue warned his radio listeners Sunday that Mad Cow Disease is in U.S. beef and cattle may have been tainted by the deadly prions that cause the disease for years.

He suggested that the story has been carefully suppressed by the powerful beef industry and the American media, even though reports of infected cows are beginning to get out.

He said the federal government is looking at a new report of a possible infected cow somewhere in the Midwest. The first publicly diagnosed case of Mad Cow Disease occurred in Washington State, and a second one was found in Texas, so this would be the third case if tests prove positive.

(Since Aaron's show, the government this week disclosed that the cow found in a herd in Alabama tested positive for Mad Cow Disease. Aaron announced on his show that the animal would be found infected)

But Donahue said he believes a growing problem of dementia with older Americans, and especially the occurrence of Alzheimer’s Disease has been misdiagnosed. Because people dying of Alzheimer’s are rarely given autopsies, Donahue said there is a strong possibility that cases of Mad Cow Disease, or the variant form of Creutzfeld-Jakob Disease caused by prions in bovine spongiform encephalopathy, is being overlooked.

The symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease and Creutzfeld-Jakob Disease are nearly identical, Donahue said. But medical researchers apparently have failed, or not wanted to know if Mad Cow is the real culprit in many of the Alzheimer cases.

“I believe there are more cases of BSE involvement than we admit today,” he said. “We have been warning you meat eaters about this for years. As scientific methods of diagnosing evolve we will be able to look at this. And you will discover that you meat eaters have been eating mad cow.”

Donahue said the very fact that humans are killing animals to eat them is, in itself, an ecological disaster on the planet.

First publicized in 1995 when there was an outbreak of bovine spongiform encephalopathy among beef cattle in England, the disease, quickly dubbed “Mad Cow” because cattle lose their balance and eventually fall, has now spread all over the world. It also has spread to other animals, although it is identified by a variety of different names.

In sheep it is called scrapie. In wild deer and elk, it is known as wasting disease. And of course, in humans it is known as the variant form of Creutzfeld-Jakob Disease. All appear to be caused by the same peculiar organism, an abnormal type of disease-causing substance.

Prions cannot be classified as viruses, bacteria, fungi or parasites. The only way to describe them is to say they are a type of protein construction from a set of 20 amino acids. When eaten or in any way absorbed into the body, these prions damage brain tissue through a process of vacuolation, making neurons appear like sponges with pitted holes.

The scary part of this story is that this new type of prion appears indestructible. Research has found that they can survive the pressurized steam of autoclaves, filtration, extreme heat, radiation, formaldehyde and decades of freezing. And they can cross species, and be spread by feeding on infected animals and even blood transfusions.

Thorough cooking the meat does not protect the consumer from infection.

Once infected, the victim is literally doomed to a terrible death. The disease slowly eats holes in the brain and drives the victim insane. By the time death occurs, the brain tissue looks like a block of gray Swiss cheese.
