The Sun Tarot

The Name Of Thy House 418

"They shall worship thy name, foursquare, mystic, wonderful, the number of the man; and the name of thy house 418." Liber al vel Legis 2:78

There is yet another puzzle locked in this final line of Verse 78. The information therein is so veiled that few writers have even attempted to try to decipher it. Aaron's only hint was that it was a reference to the "abomination of desolation." He told me to wait for the answer, which would come to me in a dream.

When I dreamed the dream, I found myself standing under the massive legs of a mighty living creature. The legs were like those of an elephant, except they extended beyond my vision. For some reason I either neglected to look up, or was forbidden to do so. I believe I was visited by a Midware, one of the great mystery powers existing on and about this planet. In my hand was an envelope that contained a single piece of paper. When I examined the paper, it contained the final sentence in Verse 78. Some of the words were highlighted.

Because of the dream I understood that I was directed to unlock the puzzle rather than dismiss it. The message locked within was important.

Crowley made comment in which he suggested the solution might lie in the Tarot. He also thought the reference to "thy name" pointed to the Sun Tarot, a point I would have surely missed. Instead of following the trail he marked, at least in his book The Law Is For All, Crowley played with the number 418, unlocking its cabalistic mysteries.

Using these faint clues, I turned to the Tarot in search of an answer.

The Sun Tarot represents Horus, the Lord of the New Aeon. It calls for the emancipation of the human race. A green mound pictured on the card represents the fertile earth. Remember that the Sun, like the Earth, is a sentient being. It is a part of the creation of Nuit, driven by the power of Hadit.

Foursquare, or the multiplication of four times four gives us the sixteenth card, which is The Tower. The card points to the destruction of the old-established aeon by lightning, flames and engines of war.

I am drawn to say that the word "mystic" represents the magician, or Magus, which is Card One. The Magus, or Mercury, is portrayed as the messenger of God. He juggles the four symbols of the elements and the papyrus, or Word. He represents the creative force in action, which also might be identified as Had.

I cannot explain why the word "wonderful" brought me to the Tenth Tarot, called Fortune. Pictured on this card is a spinning ten-spoke wheel with three figures clinging there. At the top is the Sphinx, typifying intelligence and balance. An ape-like figure, Hermanubis, represents restlessness of unstable reason. Then at the bottom, nearly losing its grip and falling, is Typhon, a reptile-headed creature and the symbol of destruction, sluggishness and ignorance. This card appears to point to the precarious state of the human race.

The "number of man" is five. Thus we look to the Fifth Tarot. He is the Hierophant, the Beast, 666. He is an occult force invoked to bring about the New Aeon. "Now ye shall know that the chosen priest & apostle of infinite space is the prince-priest the Beast; and in his woman called the Scarlet Woman is all power given. They shall gather my children into their fold: they shall bring the glory of the stars into the hearts of men." (1:15)

Last we come to "the name of thy house 418." There is so much occult symbolism associated with this number that it is difficult to choose what is meant by this reference. Since we are using the Tarot, I break the numbers down (4+1+8=13; 1+3=4) to the Fourth Card, or the Emperor. This card represents government and power.

These, then, are all of the elements needed for the great drama unfolding before us. That the human race is mostly finding itself in the failing state of Typhon is sad, because it means that the Beast must strike with the force of "foursquare," or lightning and fire. Only a remnant of the human race, perhaps the 144,000 referred to in the Book of the Revelation, will survive. But this will be enough to regenerate the human race under the New Aeon of Horus.

The angelic driven Christian church identifies the Abomination of Desolation as the destruction of the church by the Beast in the end times. The Magical Order of the Sun will establish a new church of the Beast that will destroy all of the old established world religions. It will be a financial, government and religious institution combined. It will be established by entities within the Magical Order of the Sun, including Lucifer. It shall be the Church of the Beast.

(As a footnote, Crowley later purchased a home in Scotland that had the name Boleskine. The name translates cabalistically to the number 418. Thus there was a strange double meaning to this prophetic message of Hadit.)
